Autism Awareness Games That Are Fun for All Week Two

As April is awareness for Autism, we here at Family Gamer Review decided to do a top 5 list of the games that we reviewed that we felt that was fun for all members of the family and our special needs gamers out there.  As we for the next month, we will weekly release games on this list for parents and guardians to try out and enjoy with their gaming family.

  1. Tetris 99

It is you vs. the world in this multiplayer, battle royal style of gameplay that is taking an iconic puzzle game and placing this twist onto it.  Tetris 99 is a fun, fast paced game where it takes advantage of the Nintendo online service and competitive gameplay and creating a wonderful balance to it.  Even thought it is a single player game, it is still something not to miss for Nintendo Switch fans out there.

  1. Steven Universe – Save The Light

A great game from the hit cartoon series Steven Universe.  Steven Universe – Save the Light is action RPG you take control of Steven and other characters from the series and try to stop a new Gem.  With the voices from the show, 7 characters to play from and original story from the series creator, another great family friendly game and a big hit for any in your gaming family that loves the Steven Universe cartoon series.

  1. Birdcakes

To say that this is an odd game will not do it justice, Birdcakes is a fast pace twin stick shooter that is very fun, and the artistic graphics are a joy to see in motion.  The game is simple, your picnic has gone wrong and you Pancake must protect your girlfriend Cherry from hungry flies.  With random generated levels, beautiful artwork and tight controls, Birdcakes is a fun game for the gaming family.

  1. Iron Crypticle

An old school style of twin stick shooter that is all about fighting off the evil dead, upgrade your weapons and did we mention that it is a local 4 player co-op game?  Iron Crypticle this modern style Gauntlet game is all about getting loot, fight enemies, and bosses.  This is a great family game for the whole family to play as all members will have to work together towards a common goal.  Also, this game was a hit here at the office with both parents and children!

  1. Hue

This game is a true gem where a puzzle game where you must use colors to solve platform puzzles.   By changing colors to match the obstacles, you can move and manipulate the blocks to get to your next objective.  With a fantastic story and multiple challenges Hue is one of those games that is a must play and should be already in your digital library.
