Now the world is coming back, what to do with unfinished games during COVID-19?

As the world is getting back on its feet and we are starting to return to normal, there are so many questions that are coming up – not just in the gaming world but in real life. Rather than talk about what is right or wrong on a post COVID-19 world and gatherings both outside and inside, we are more going to talk about what to do with the current digital library that you have and how to start balancing your time between getting back into the world and finishing those great games that you or someone in your gaming family are playing.

In 2020, the year that give us “Tiger King” and other wild shows, the gaming industry was busy giving us classic games as well new games that took a long time to finish and continual gaming with new updates and DLC. Games like Call of Duty, Assassin Creed, Watchdogs, and other games as well as the new Xbox One Series X and PlayStation 5, there was a lot of gaming to do this year. As most of us were at home binge watching tv shows on streaming services, we gamers had the time finally to finish off some of the games that have been sitting in our digital catalog. So how do you or someone in your gaming family do this? Well here are some tips to create that beautiful balance and still game and live on!

1. Don’t go cold turkey! In every aspect of life, experts are encouraging people to “re-integrate” at their own pace for a healthy transition.

2. Set up a schedule. As life is getting back to normal for most of us, set up a time for yourself or someone in your gaming family to have time just to game. Believe me or not, playing video games is a great stress relieve for you. It allows you to wind down and relax, weather its going through a Cold War in multiplayer, or a fictional London or other setting, gaming is relaxing and helps us all relax and rebalance ourselves. So do not stop gaming or put a game on hold, set up a time in the day or in the week to game, just you and the console/pc to continue or finish that game. We recommend for those that want to play their favorite game at least 90 minutes to game with solo or with others. Parents can adjust this schedule accordingly to fit daily activities.

3. Gaming on the go. For those gamers that are playing on the Nintendo Switch, Mobile Phone or device, don’t give up on your games. As these are mobile devices they are meant to be on the go. Parents now that places are opening, for those long drives to the beach, family, or other gatherings, allow the gamers to bring their devices on these trips. Now only will it keep them busy but allow them to have the time to enjoy that game that they have been working on. This also allows to unwind while on the trip. Also, as children and other adults that have not seen their friends and family for almost a year, a chance to catch up and game in person vs online and better enjoy the game.

4. Continue gaming. Yes, you read this right…lol continue gaming as we not only invested time into these games but money as well. The last thing that you want to do is throw away both money and time that you put aside for these great games just because we are now able to go back into the world. In life you can find a health balance between both gaming and living life. Also, the last thing that you want to do is give up on that next level, mission, upgrade or even just getting that kill streak in a game. You worked hard on earning these achievements, so continue going forward on these things.

5. Family gaming nights. As some have already have in in play, continue this. If you do not, then schedule a day or days and time to game as a family. It can be a board game, card game, video game, whatever it is make it into a family event. Studies have shown that families that participate in family activities have a healthier relationship with each other and this also allows all members of the family to bond and play and be well with each other. For those that are more video gamers, pick out a game that is a multiplay that is more couch co-op and play a couple of games with others.
