Vegas Party

Vegas Party is a casino style game in which up to 4 players locally can play in casino games like Blackjack, Roulette, and slots.

General Gameplay

Vegas Party is a collection of games that you would play in a casino from Blackjack, Video Poker, Roulette, Red or Black and other party types of games.  The Game Visuals are something interesting in the game.  The game visuals look dated for a game like this.  The game is colorful and vibrant but there are points of the game where it seriously looks last generation in its style.  From the dealers, to items in the game, all look very dated, can you see the cards and objects, yes, however it just was a let down as it brings the enjoyment down.  The Audio for the game has everything that you would expect to hear from a casino.  From the ball rolling on the roulette table to cards being dealt to everything in between, but again there is nothing else special of the audio of the game.  There is a voice over to announce the players and what is going on but that it.  The game is in 5.1 surround sound but in our playthrough the sound was a hit and miss with 3 different surround sound systems that we tried the game with.  In our playtesting we did not hear anything offensive for any gamer of any age.  The Controls for Vegas Party are mostly “point and click” in its nature, you use the thumb stick to move the cursor around and a button to make a choice, that’s all.  The controls are made simple as so the gamer can go from game type to game without knowing many control setups.  In our playtesting, none of the game testers ran into any issues with the game controls.  The game does not need any special type of controller to play with but it seems that the game design was designed around more for PC gamers in mind.

“With so many unbalance issues with the gameplay and very one-sided casino games it is better to go to Atlantic City or Las Vegas in real life then play this game.”

Family Friendly

When we received a code for Vegas Party here at the office, a lot of our older gamers had a smile on their face realizing that there is a developer that does want to create a gambling game that does not consist of having real money used and they were chomping a the bit to play the game, well once we started the game testing, all of our testers within 30 minutes of playing the game got bored of the game.  One of the many problems of the game is that the game AI is way off balanced.  What we mean by this is that the game is either too easy or hard, there is no middle ground.  Also, the game as they are games that you would play in a casino, like Blackjack, Video Poker, ect… are just boring.  With casino-based video games the games of cards and chance are supposed to make you feel that the next roll, or cards can be that payday but in Vegas Party you do not get that feeling.  The game pointer felt slow and sluggish during gameplay.  We thought that it was our controllers at first but it after extensive testing, we realize that it is the game and not our controllers.  In the end the game was not fun for any age, which was a disappointment as most of our older gamers were really looking forward to the game.  In our special needs game testing, we found the controller cursor to be a little slow and the graphics to be a little to blurry for some of our gamers.  Again, this is to the fault of the game and not your SMART TV or monitor.

Closing

In the end, you would be better be off going to a real casino then playing this game.  Best to either get a demo of the game if you still have an itch for a gambling game.

  • Graphics seem to be outdated.
  • Controls seems to be slow and sluggish.
