FoxyLand

Help Foxy save the love of his life in this 2D action platform 8-bit inspired game.

General Gameplay

FoxyLand is a action based 2D platform game similar to the Super Mario Brothers series where you run and jump, collect coins and cherries and try to reach the end of the level to progress to the next one, getting closer to your goal to save your love one.  The Game Visuals for FoxyLand are very basic in its design.  The game is in an 8-bit look where everything in the game is in an 8-bit from the levels, characters, backgrounds, and menus.  The game is made to give a look and feel of an old school game. As FoxyLand is in its retro design, it works for the game look and feel, and you feel like that you are playing a retro style game.  The game visual is clean and easy to see on screen.  The games colors are very bright and vibrant to see and as the game does not support a color-blind mode, there is no need for it as the game colors are very easy to see.  In our play testing, we did not run into any issues with the game visuals or anything in the game.  If anything, the game is very family friendly.  Audio in FoxyLand is very retro in its sound design.  As the game is a retro based game, so it the audio with its 8-bit sounds.  Everything from the background music, to the characters, and general objects are sound retro.  The game sound gives it the feeling of a retro feeling.  The game is presented in 2.0 stereo sound and as the game is a retro style game there is no 5.1 surround sound mode for the game.  In our play testing we did not hear anting offensive in the game audio.  Controls in FoxyLand are very easy to use in the game.  As the game is very easy to control, there is simple controls to play the game.  The left thumb stick is used to control the character, and there is a jump button and a button to use to throw cherries at the enemies.  The game is very friendly in its controls and easy to pick up and play the game for any gamers.  As the game is on the consoles, there is no need to use a special controller.

“A true retro game where you run, collect and move forward.  This is a great game for those that love the Super Mario Series from the old NES days”

Family Friendly

FoxyLand to its core is a retro game.  Simple gameplay, controls, graphics and design are what gives this game its charm.  One of the great parts of the game is the way you can approach it as an old school game.  So, this means from any gamers young to old can play the game without any trouble.  This is a fun game for all ages to play.  The game is very easy and can be beat within a sitting or two. The game is not to hard to play or even beat.  One of the best parts of the game is that you have a health bar so for those gamers that are still new to platform games can play the game and not be punished for making mistakes.  Each level is short and very easy to navigate throughout the level.  The game level design is very linear and easy to get from point A to point B.  The only complaint that we have about FoxyLand is that the game is short.  In our special needs game testing, we did not see any issues with the game visuals, audio or even controls.  The game is very special needs gaming friendly.

Closing

FoxyLand is a fun retro action platform game where it is not to hard for any gamer to play.  This is a great all-around game for your gaming family to have and in your digital library.
