Aircraft Evolution

Take into the skies as a fighter pilot and attack the enemy both in the air and ground taking out bases, enemy fighters, ground troops, tanks, and other enemies in 40 stages and 4 eras of military combat.

General Gameplay

Aircraft Evolution is a single player side scroller shooter whereas a fighter pilot you take enemies in 4 different war eras of combat.  Both fighters and enemies are from the WW1 era up to the most modern era of military combat.  The Game Visuals are very bright and vivid on the screen.  The game visuals are details to show your current aircraft and the enemies and backgrounds.  The detail is quite easy to see on the screen.  Aircraft Evolution detail to the graphics make it a treat to see as all game visuals in motion.  Even during hectic parts of the game, you can see everything clearly during gameplay.  The game does offer a colorblind mode; however, it is not necessary as the colors are bright enough to see all the colors.  In our play testing, we did not encounter any issues with the game graphics and Aircraft Evolution is very family friendly.  Audio in Aircraft Evolution are what you would expect in a shooter to hear.  You will hear the standard weapons fire, explosions, and general background music.  The game does a great job in this department where the background music does not overpower the in game sounds and this is a great treat as you in game want to concentrated on  the in game sounds vs the background music, but it is still a treat to have playing in the background.  As you are going to use your bombs in the game, the sound from the explosions from bombs hitting targets is nice to hear as they sound different from each type of bombs that you can use.  Aircraft Evolution does not have any spoken dialog, in this sense it is all about action and no in game chatter from any characters.  The game is presented in 5.1 surround sound, and in 2.0 stereo sound and both sound environments are fine to play the game in.  We would recommend using a gaming headset to play the game to get the most out of the sound in the game. In our play testing, we did not hear anything that would be offensive to younger gamers to hear.  Controls in Aircraft Evolution are amazingly easy to use.  The left thumb stick controls and banks your fighter, where the right thumb stick is used to select in game your bombs.  There is a button to drop your bombs, another one to use the guns for your aircraft, and a speed up to make your aircraft.  The game controls are designed to make it easy for anyone to pick up and play the game, so even gamers that are not used to playing shooters can easily play the game.  Aircraft Evolution does not need a special controller to play the game and the standard controller that you use for your console is fine to use.  In our play testing, we did not have any issues wit the controller setting or controls, the game is very family friendly to control.

“A simple and fun shooter where both air to air and air to ground combat is frantic and fun.  Bombing runs are fun and the game is not too difficult for anyone to pick up and play this great game”

Family Friendly

When it comes to shooters, it is all about what makes the game a good or bad shooter.  Is it a more of a SHMUP, or a bullet hell style shooter, or a general side scroller shooter, well Aircraft Evolution is more of a mixture of a light bullet hell and side scroller shooter, which is not a bad thing.  The game has everything that a shooter fan in your gaming family will enjoy.  The game is all about doing bombing runs on enemy and bases, as well taking out air targets.  Each era at the end of the stages there is a boss battle that is more related to the era that you are currently in.  Now the beauty of the game is that once you raise in level in the game you can go into the in game store, use credits to purchase upgrades for your current plane, bombs, repair kits, and also other planes once they unlock.  This allows you as the gamer to use what is your favorite plane in the game, however keep in mind that if your favorite plane is from say the WWII era, it may not match up later in the game with more advance enemy aircrafts and ground defenses (Unless you’re like an ace like Mavrick from Top Gun then you will do fine…lol).  In the game you have unlimited bombs, but using the right thumb stick you can select from different types of bombs to use, even through limited in their use but still a good strategy to have in play when going up against larger building and/or enemies and bosses.  Aircraft Evolution is a fun game as the controls, sound and gameplay is extremely easy to pick up and play.  The game is not hard but challenging enough for any shooter fan to play and enjoy the game without any problems.  If anything, we feel that this is a great game for any new shooter fans to get use to side scroller shooter as well a good gaming break for those that want something more relaxing and easier to play.  Also with over 40 levels of gameplay there is a lot to do in the game so gamers will not get bored with the game.  In our special needs game testing, we did not encounter any issues with the game graphics, audio or controls, the game is very special needs gaming friendly.

Closing

With great graphics, controls and overall shooter fun, Aircraft Evolution is a great addition to your gaming library.  Both shooter and non-shooter fans will enjoy this great game.
