Crawlco Block Knockers

Match blocks of three working in a warehouse while working for a boss and getting rid of enemies as you are going about your work in this Japanese mature block matching puzzle game.

AS THE GAME IS RATED M – FOR MATURE. WE ONLY TESTED THIS TITLE WITH GAMERS THAT ARE OVER THE AGE OF 17 – THIS GAME CONTAINS NUDITY.

General Gameplay

The game is all about matching boxes on the level via three per set.  As you form the boxes you get to see more of the pictures, as the game is rated M – For Mature the pictures are of anime ladies that are mostly nude.  The game is a throwback of the Japanese arcade 90’s games that you would see in the arcades, but without nudity.  The Game Visuals are more of an anime style down to the characters, enemies, drawings of the girls are done in a 16 bit 90’s style of visuals.  The graphics on the Nintendo Switch are done well to see on the screen both on the mobile and the larger screen.  The graphics are surprising well done and very fluid on the screen in motion.  The game colors are very bright and vivid and easy to see.  The game allows you to change the color style to help with those that have a colorblind issue, but the game overall does not support a colorblind mode in this sense.  In our play testing outside of the nudity in the game the game graphics are well done for mature gamers to play the game.  Audio in Crawlco Block Knockers is in more of an midi 90’s style in the game.  The sound effects from blocks hitting other blocks, enemies, and even the talking text are all done well enough to hear in the game without any problems.  The game is presented in 2.0 stereo sound and it works well for the game.  As the game story is told via text, the text sounds actually sound well in the game.  In our playtesting, we did not encounter any issues with the game sounds as it sounds, and the sound effects fits well in  Crawlco Block Knockers.  Controls in Crawlco Block Knockers are very easy to use.  As the game is on the Nintendo Switch the controls are very easy to control.  There is a button to kick the blocks, as well pull and move the blocks around.  There is a jump button to jump on the blocks to get to other blocks and move around.  The game is very simple to control and this is one of the best aspects of the game.  In our playtesting, we did not have any issues with the controller settings or controls in the game, however if you are playing on the larger screen, we highly recommend using a Nintendo Pro controller to play Crawlco Block Knockers.

Crawlco Block Knockers is a fun game for those that are into puzzle games and into the 90’s style of arcade, even with the mature content in the game, there is a more modest setting that allows older gamers to enjoy the game and not be embarrassed playing the game in public.

Family Friendly

As with most Nintendo games are more family friendly, there are games that come out that are more geared towards more of a mature audience. Crawlco Block Knockers is one of those games that is a game that is more towards the adult audience. Now saying this, the game itself is a fun game to play.  When we first got the review code to review this, we were very hesitant to allow our older testers to play the game because of the mature content of the game but we learned never judge a book by its cover.  Under this game is a very solid game that is fun to play.  As the game is all about connecting blocks to form a picture, it is more about how to get the block to match and how you complete the zones per level.  After beating each level, there are some boss battles where the bosses are hard to beat but still a great challenge to play against. Overall, the game is a fun game for even casual players. The soundtrack is a funky 90’s infused arcade sound that actually fits for the game.  The controls are super easy to use and pick up and play the game.  When it comes to games on the Nintendo Switch screen it is very easy to see all of the game without squinting to see the game, and this is a big issue for older gamers that try to play the game on the go.  Another great aspect of the game is that you can play the levels with enemies in the levels or not, so for those that just want to enjoy the puzzle aspect of the game without the enemies attacking you this is a great feature.  This is a game for gamers that like to play a puzzle game with a challenge, and we have to say that we highly recommend this game for all gamers.  The only complaint that we had about the game is that some of the boss battles can get more difficult as you go along, but if you earn enough stars in the game you can skip the boss battles.  As the game is mature in nature, do not allow this to deter you from picking up this game, as you can play a more modest version of the game, there is nothing loss playing in this mode outside of the nudity in the game.  With puzzle games that crowd the Nintendo Online Market, this is one game that you should pick up for your digital library.  In our special needs game testing, we did not encounter any problems with the game visuals, audio and controls, the game and found the game to be very special needs gaming friendly.

Closing

With great music, controls and overall fun puzzle fun, Crawlco Block Knockers is a great mature game that should be in your digital library.  Even with a mature theme to the game, that can be turned off this is a fun game.
