With the social isolation in place in most areas, we were able to get two reviews of two great games that you can be playing right now. Neon Chrome a fantastic twin stick shooter where death is just another chance at life to get better. A Blade Runner feel to the game with great power ups and weapons, a game for shooter fans that should not miss. Ori and the Will of the Wisps a true sequel to the original Ori game but with lots more gaming to it. Still a Metroidvania style game that again shows why Ori is phenomenal game to play.
Take a Blade Runner setting, take a mad dictator that only wants more power, and you as one of many clones, that just wants to get to the dictator and take him out of power. Well that is Neon Chrome in a nutshell. What makes this a great twin stick shooter is how they go about the game. Lots of power ups, weapons, and random generated levels gives the player lots to do on each level. The game has great boss battles and as you die, and regenerate and go back into the building there is a lot to grow from learning from your last mistakes. Neon Chrome also offers an arena style of Player vs. Player gaming and a great single player experience. Be sure to read our review here and watch some gameplay footage of Neon Chrome.
When the first Ori game was released, we were taken back by the game’s graphics, controls, and most of all its beautiful orchestra style of music. The game takes you on a journey with its tight control, story and most of all the gameplay that keeps a lasting moment for a long time. Ori and the Will of the Wisps take everything that they did right and improve onto it. Bigger levels, boss battles, more secrets, better story, power ups to obtain and a lot more, Ori sequel is a game that you must play to experience. In our opinion easily a game of the year game here.
