Cook, Serve, Delicious! 2!!

Cook the dishes, served them to your customers, and run a restaurant the right way in this cooking simulator.

General Gameplay

You are a chef, earning your stripes to get your own restaurant. In this simulator you must serve food to hungry customers, take care day to day things around the restaurant like cleaning the traps, filling the drink machines, cleaning the bathroom, while cooking food to order for customers.  The Game Visuals for Cook, Serve, Delicious! 2!! Are very basic but functional.  As the game is more about attention to detail when it comes to make the dishes, the pictures that represent the food are very easy to see and clear in the text descriptions.  Overall the game is designed to be more of a fast-paced sim style game so the colors choices and design of having the characters be more basic and easier to see is a great choice from the developers.  The colors are bright enough see on the screen, however there is no colorblind mode to the game (however it is not needed).  In our play testing we did not see anything that would be offensive to younger gamers to see, most of the graphics are of food dishes and general items that you would see in a restaurant environment.   If anything, the game is very family friendly for gameplay.  The Audio for Cook, Serve, Delicious! 2!! is great to listen to when playing.  There is restaurant sounds that you would expect to hear from the game like dishes clinking, fryers going as well as other restaurants sounds.  The game also has a light mellow background music to it as well that is faint but noticeable enough in the game where it is great background to hear during gameplay.  As the game does not have any spoken dialog, there are happy, sad and disappointed grunts from customers when you commit any actions.  In our playtesting we did not hear anything offensive to younger gamers ears, if anything the game sound and soundtrack were very pleasing to hear when the game is in motion.  Controls for Cook, Serve, Delicious! 2!! Are also easy to get use to.  As you will be using both the left and right thumb sticks to move from primary choices and frying station, to the face buttons to make choices, also combination of the trigger’s buttons being held while a face button makes the choices.  Now the controls are not easy to try off the first time, however after going through the tutorial it teaches you what buttons do what in the game.    In our playtesting of Cook, Serve, Delicious! 2!!, after our game testers play the tutorials, they better understood the controller setting and had a better time playing the game.  Again, we highly recommend anyone playing Cook, Serve, Delicious! 2!! to go through the game tutorial to better enjoy the game.  As the game uses a default controller setting, there is no need for a special controller for the game.

“Cook, Serve, Delicious! 2!! Makes cooking and sim games fun again.  With a perfect balance of tight controls, easy to learn game play and just lots of dishes and levels to obtain, this is a must have game for your digital library.”

Family Friendly

When we received a copy of the game from the developers, we though that this was “another sim game” and were we wrong.  The game is a total blast to play, weather solo, or with someone else (which we highly recommend) The game, and gameplay is so addicting that you will find yourself going back to restaurants and different levels just trying to get a better score.  Also, as your score gets better so do the in-game items and money received to purchase new food items.  As the game has 400 levels across 33 restaurants, there is a lot to do in the game.  Nothing gets stale in the gameplay as new dishes and combinations allow for more refreshed gameplay.  Also, one of the biggest features is local co-op play.  Why this makes the game so much more fun is that you and another gamer can coordinate on who is covering what dish or dropping something to the hold bin.  This type of co-op play helps a lot when playing with someone and adds so much more to the game.   This is a great game for couples or even parents/guardians and children to play.  The game has no violence whatsoever and is a very calming and relaxing game to play.  Again, the game does get a little harder on later levels but Cook, Serve, Delicious! 2!! does a great job of getting you ready for the challenge.  The only complaint that we had is that during the rush hours of the game there is a warning across the main screen that can at times hinder when you are preparing a dish and can lead to a mistake.  In our special needs game testing, we did not run into any issues with the game’s graphics, audio, or even controls.  The game is very special needs friendly and we highly recommend Cook, Serve, Delicious! 2!!
